On Monday, May 16th our new wild mustangs arrived in PA. Two families have adopted these mustangs and now Lauren and I will be training them to be trusted partners for these families and also will be competing with them in the Supreme Extreme Mustang Makeover in Fort Worth, TX in September. I am training Viggo, a bay gelding and Lauren is training Sparrow, a bay mare. Both are 5 years old. Unfortunately there is not a youth component to this competition so Brooke is not training a mustang this time around. However, she is going to be instrumental in helping both Lauren and I with various tasks as we proceed with the training of these guys.

When we find a product we can’t live without it’s like a wonderful thing! So we thought if we like them so much maybe you will too. Below are some of the products we have put into our Must Have list and wanted to share with you so that you too can reap the benefits of these great finds. EquiFuse line of horse hair care products: EquiFuse brand is by far that best hair care products we have found for our horses. They have a sulfate-free mane and tail shampoo (Citrafoam ), and conditioner (CitraCream); a concentrated body shampoo that can be used with a foamer (CFS Concentrate + Paste Shampoo); a concentrated coat protector and conditioner (ReHydrinse); a shine spray (Shine Perfect); and a shine serum (Gleam). All of their products are all natural and encourage hair growth. I can attest to the quality of these products as they make the horses SO shiny and leave their manes and tails exquisitely soft and manageable. I like these products so much I now use the shampoo and conditioner on my own hair! Follow this link to watch a short video of how to use the products in the 6-step program. […]

Recently we had the chance to work with another lovely gal from State College, PA and her horse ‘Tinka’. This pair was having some trouble connecting because Tinka was a bit overly sensitive to her rider’s aids and just couldn’t relax when asked to do anything. Tinka needed to learn how to RESPOND to the aids instead of just REACTING to them. Over the course of a few weeks in our program, Tinka began to understand this more and became more relaxed under saddle and she began to develop a much better rhythm in all of her gaits. This made riding Tinka much easier and brought she and her owner more in sync with each other. Awhile after the pair returned home, we received a letter from Tinka’s owner expressing her gratitude for the help we had given them: “Suzanne, I cannot thank you enough for all that you did for Tinka and I. You really changed the way we interact with each other and now we can really have some great quality time together! It’s been a month since we brought her home and while she is not getting worked daily she is really doing amazing and has had no […]
